You do not have to spend the evenings alone, as three evening events are included in the full conference registration. Moreover, the Finnish Experiences will celebrate the Finnish edition of NordiCHI after its official closing.
You will find the tickets to the evening events in your personal envelope that you got at the registration desk. In order to get in, you will need the ticket. If you lost your ticket, please ask for a new one at the registration desk or contact student volunteers at the door and show your NordiCHI badge.

Get-Together
Monday 27.10. 17:30-19:30
LUME center at Aalto ARTS, Hämeentie 135C, Helsinki
After hosting two days of workshops, tutorials, and the doctoral consortium at the Arabia campus of Aalto University, Aalto ARTS
welcomes all conference participants to the Get-Together Event to be held in the same building. The venue is the old Arabia ceramics factory building, which has been the home of university-level art and design education since 1986.
The dean of Aalto School of Arts, Design and Architecture will welcome NordiCHI attendees. You can then enjoy Sound Performances, which were submitted to the NordiCHI Performances track, and an exhibition of works from Aalto ARTS. The main purpose of the event, however, is to meet old and new friends with drinks and small bites. You can also get your conference bag at the registration desk. The event is included in the conference fee, and NordiCHI buses will take you there in 30-40 minutes from Hotel Grand Marina and Senate Square at 16:30 and 16:50.
City Reception

The city of Helsinki invites the attendees of NordiCHI’14 to a reception with a light buffet and drinks. The City Hall is just 750m from the conference center, between the Market Square and Senate Square.
Video Screening

Ran out of time at the demos & posters session? No worries, there is even better chance to see the NordiCHI videos in a proper movie theater that is very near to the conference center and the dinner place. The peer-reviewed videos at NordiCHI’14 highlight the use of video as a tool for creative communication, and the topics are about research prototypes, future innovations and user studies.
Conference Dinner

The main evening event of NordiCHI is with no doubt the Conference Dinner, which you do not want to miss. The dinner venue, Wanha Satama, is just a minute away from the Hotel Grand Marina. The dinner program will remain a surprise, but we will pay special attention to the Fun part of the conference theme.
Finnish Experiences
Thursday 30.10. 18:00-22:00
Uunisaari, Helsinki

The last night of NordiCHI’14 will provide memorable experiences in Finnish style: Finnish buffet on one of the 178 947 islands in Finland, naturally with the opportunity for a real Finnish sauna experience. In between the hot sauna sessions, the bravest ones will take a dip in the cold seawater; the second bravest will bathe in a hot tub outside. A fee of 30€ covers the lot, including towels and the short boat trip from Kompassitori to Uunisaari. Remember to pack your swimsuit and some euros for the Finnish drinks!
Some extra hints
The dress code for all events is casual, but for the City Reception and Conference Dinner, smart casual works as well. For the Finnish Experiences night, warm clothes will be needed, although the restaurant and sauna facilities will be warm. You can wear a towel or a swimsuit also in the sauna, although with separate saunas for women and men, the genuine Finnish dress code is naked.
