Registration

To register for the Conference and to make an accommodation reservation, please complete the on-line registration form:

  1. Workshop participants: Your workshop organisers have provided a special registration link for you. Please use that link in all of your registration.
  2. Workshop organisers: Please register in the same way as the participants. Also organisers will pay the workshop participation fee.
  3. Others: Register to NordiCHI’14

Before registering
On the registration form you can register to the Main Conference, tutorials, social programme and you can book accommodation from the Conference hotels. Before you start the registration, please check the selection of tutorials, accommodation options and evening events. If you wish to book tutorials, social programme tickets or accommodation after you have registered, please contact the NordiCHI 2014 secretariat by email NordiCHI2014(a)confedent.fi.

Register to NordiCHI’14

The Main Conference registration fee includes:

  • Full access to the sessions on October 28th-30th, including keynotes by Don Norman and Antti Oulasvirta
  • Conference lunches and coffees/refreshments during the breaks
  • Conference proceedings on USB stick
  • Get Together event on Monday, October 27
  • City reception on Tuesday, October 28
  • Conference Dinner on Wednesday, October 29
  • Finnish Experiences event for a compensated fee on Thursday, October 30
  • NordiCHI’14 conference bag

The One Day Conference registration fee includes:

  • Full access to the sessions on the selected day
  • Conference lunch and coffees/refreshments during the breaks on the selected day
  • Conference proceedings on USB stick
  • Evening event on the selected day
  • NordiCHI’14 conference bag

The fee for workshops and tutorials includes:

  • Access to the selected workshop or tutorial
  • In case of tutorials, handout of the tutorial materials
  • In case of workshops, workshop organizers typically provide workshop proceedings online
  • Lunch and coffees/refreshments during the breaks of the workshop/tutorial
  • Bus transportation from Hotel Grand Marina to the workshops and tutorials venue and back
  • Get Together event on Monday evening, October 27

Payment

When choosing the payment method kindly notice that all payments need to be settled before the Conference. The acceptable payment methods are credit card or invoice:

  • Credit card: The Conference fees should be fully paid in Euro by credit card at the same time with your registration or in due time if you request an invoice. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Eurocard. SSL secured credit card payment is possible through the Conference registration system.
  • Invoice: The invoice reference number given on the invoice must show as identification on the bank transaction. The invoice will give all necessary international bank information for the bank transfer. Invoicing Fee 14 euro will be added to all invoices.

Cancellation terms for the conference events

  • Cancellation received before or on September 18th, 2014 – 50 % refund of the fees (50 % payment to be made if fees not already paid at time of cancellation)
  • Cancellation received after September 18, 2014 – No refunds will be given (100 % payment to be made if fees not already paid at time of cancellation)
  • There will be no refund for no-shows.

Cancellation of accommodation:

  • Cancellation received before or on August 25, 2014 – Full refund (deduction of EUR 50 for the administration fee)
  • Cancellation received after August 25, 2014 – No refunds will be given (100 % deposit to be made if fees not already paid at time of cancellation)
  • There will be no refund for no-shows.

The conference organizers do not take responsibility for cancellation of the event in force majeure cases (natural disaster, outbreak of severe contagious epidemic, major strikes etc.).

Insurance
The Conference organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, for loss of, or damage to property belonging to conference participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as a result of the conference.
Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. The Conference organization does not take the responsibility for force majeure reasons of cancelling the event (natural disaster, outbreak of severe contagious epidemic, major strikes etc.). In such event, the NordiCHI 2014 Conference Organizing Committee will decide upon refunding of paid conference fees.

Visa information
Information about visa requirements to Finland can be found from the pages of Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland. The NordiCHI organizers will send the invitation letter only after you have registered to the conference. Once you have done that, contact info@nordichi2014.org explaining the need for an invitation letter.
